Description
Buran was a reusable space orbiter developed by the Soviet Union in the 1980s, similar in design to NASA’s Space Shuttle. Buran orbiters were launched aboard the super-heavy-lift Energia rocket, and the program’s sole orbital flight took place successfully on November 15, 1988, without a crew on board. Sadly, the Buran orbiter was destroyed in 2002 when the roof of its storage hangar collapsed at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. This commemorative blueprint features:
- Energia rocket and Buran orbiter side view
- Energia rocket and Buran orbiter front view
- Energia rocket and Buran orbiter forward and aft views
